John Lennon, Author

Recently a collection of artwork, short manuscripts, and poetry were offered for sale at an auction. I enjoyed reading this article about John Lennon. He was a published author. The last line in the article made me laugh. John Lennon wrote short manuscripts because he couldn’t type very fast, and ‘couldn’t be bothered going on.’ Writers understand that thought!

Whimsical drawings, poems and prose created by John Lennon for his acclaimed books “In His Own Write” and “A Spaniard in the Works” are coming to auction.

The books’ British publisher, Tom Maschler, has owned the material for a half century and is offering it for sale at Sotheby’s on Wednesday. It is the largest private collection of Lennon’s work to come to the market, the auction house said. Click here to learn more.
