Christmas Inn, 1881: Matthew White returns to the hotel where he and his wife spent their honeymoon. She has been gone nearly a year, and he cannot think of living without her any longer. Planning to end his life on Christmas Day, he is horrified to learn that the old hotel has been sold and will be torn down in the new year. He vows to do what he can to stop this from happening.
