Counterfeit Honor

The first in a series called Heart of Honor. Denver, 1956: The candidate for president for the Democratic Party is assassinated in the lobby of the Brown Palace Hotel, and newly-promoted Detective Trevor McGonigle is on the case. He’s smart, energetic, and resourceful — in fact, he has only two problems: he’s hiding a secret from the past, and he is being paid by the mob for information on court cases and police investigations. Margaret Buchanan, reporter, is out to prove her worth in a man’s world. She latches on to rumors about McGonigle’s past, and is determined to make her fame by breaking his story. Can they work together long enough to find out the truth, or will their desire for success destroy them both?
